2020: The year of the intimate wedding

Ask any wedding photographer if they prefer a huge gala or an intimate affair, and I promise the answer will be the same every time. There’s just an energy at smaller gatherings that you can feel in the air. Everyone is present. There’s no side conversations or distractions. Everyone is experiencing the same moments together as a group. So with 2020 forcing many couples to rethink what a wedding is, I promise you, smaller is absolutely golden.

When I think back to one of my favorite smaller weddings, it was 2017 with Sean and Kenlyn. They chose to have a more intimate wedding at Terrain where they focused their budget into some of the most amazing details I have even seen: breathtaking floral arrangements, mix-and-match furniture seating for the ceremony, and couture attire… well, except for the guys wearing Chucks. The end result was strikingly gorgeous, wonderfully intimate, and fantastically perfect. Here, some four years later, I still remember their day as one of my favorites, and look forward to the smaller weddings yet to come.
